State Rep. Drew Hansen had the most campaign cash on hand heading into the final week of the 2012 Election in any of the contested races in the 23rd District, according a review of campaign finance records.

Hansen, the Democratic incumbent who is seeking a new term in the 23rd District’s Position 2 in the state House, had a cash balance of $32,831 on Oct. 30.

His opponent, Republican James M. Olsen, had a negative balance in his campaign coffers, according to records on file with the state Public Disclosure Commission.

Olsen had a negative balance of $59.88, according to his Oct. 30 report of receipts and expenditures.

Hansen’s fundraising efforts this election year dwarfed the efforts of his opponent.

Hansen raised $215,659 for his 2012 race, while Olsen collected $14,279 in donations.

In the contest for Position 1 in the 23rd District, Democratic incumbent Rep. Sherry Appleton had $22,276 cash on hand on Oct. 30.

Republican challenger Tony Stephens had $2,990 left for his campaign on Oct. 30, according to the Public Disclosure Commission.

Appleton has collected $82,877 for her re-election run. Stephens has raised $10,243.

State Sen. Christine Rolfes reported a cash-on-hand balance of $55,164 on Oct. 30.

Rolfes, a 23rd District Democrat, is facing Republican Bret Treadwell on the Nov. 6 ballot, though Treadwell abandoned his campaign shortly after filing as a candidate.

Rolfes raised $134,705 for her 2012 campaign.
