Driver who abandonded car on Seattle-bound ferry is alive, but missing

The driver of a gold 1999 Mitsubishi Galant that was abandoned on the ferry Tacoma yesterday is alive but missing.

Video surveillance obtained from the vessel indicates Amy Story, 27, walked off the ferry on Monday.

The Spokane resident, who took the ferry after visiting relatives in Sequim, is described as white with medium-length brown hair, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 240 pounds with green eyes.

She is thought to have been traveling alone and has a history of mental health issues which could have contributed to her disappearance.

Story took Monday’s 2:55 p.m. ferry from Bainbridge to Seattle. When her car was left on board, a search, led by the Coast Guard, was conducted around Puget Sound.

The Coast Guard suspended it’s search for Story yesterday at 10:32 p.m.

Washington State Patrol released information earlier today that indicated Story was alive, and they are seeking more information on her whereabouts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Patrol at 425-401-7788.
