The Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation has announced that the 2014 BIPF Community Grant applications are now available at www.biparksfoundation.org.

Grants totaling up to $20,000 will be given for community projects that support the foundation’s mission to enhance the island’s parks, trails and recreational facilities while expanding opportunities for all to participate in recreational, athletic and cultural programs.

Grant applications are due by Monday, Nov. 3.

The Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation is restructuring to expand its capacity and effectiveness in the community. New board members include active community volunteers Jennifer Campbell, Glenn Haber, Andy Maron, Maryann Kirkby and Frank Stowell. Barb Trafton has also joined the parks foundation as the first executive director.

The foundation will make its home in the Marge Williams Office center at the end of the month.
