Bainbridge Island city officials have decided to give notice that this week’s reception for finalists for the vacant police chief position will also be a special meeting of the city council.

The reception for the five finalists is 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at city hall.

City officials said that because there may be a quorum of the council present at the reception, the city was posting the event as a special meeting of the council.
