Congressman Kilmer hosts telephone town hall Wednesday

U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer (D-WA) will hold a telephone town hall this Wednesday, and residents of Washington’s 6th District who want to ask questions or leave a message should sign up for the event by 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 13.

The telephone town hall is 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 14.

“It’s important to me that I hear directly from the people I represent,” said Kilmer, a Gig Harbor Democrat.

“It’s why in order to stay accountable and accessible every year I hold a series of town halls in person and over the phone,” Kilmer said, adding that he hopes residents will dial in to share ideas and concerns.

Residents of the 6th District who would like to join the call can send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name and phone number. People who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call on Wednesday, June 14 inviting them to the town hall.

Kilmer has already held five town halls this year, including ones in Tacoma, Bremerton and Aberdeen and on ferry sailings from Bainbridge Island to Seattle.

He also recently hosted four town halls at local colleges and universities in the region and led a number of employee town halls at local businesses, most recently at Jefferson Healthcare.

In 2016, Kilmer held seven town hall meetings across the district.
