BIGS welcomes Mae Gentry as guest speaker

The topic of guest speaker Mae Gentry is “Erased From South Carolina History: A Family Tree’s Missing Branch.”

Mae Whitlock Gentry is a former writer and editor at the Chicago Sun-Times and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She has a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, and a master’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. A one-time Bainbridge Island resident, she now lives in Oakland, California, where she is working on a book about her family.
