A group of Spartans from Bainbridge High visited Lois Paski — who taught home economics at BHS for more than two decades and was married to legendary Spartan coach Tom Paski — as she celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 27.

The birthday well-wishers included ASB officers Sebastian Scales (president), Jesse Rosenthal (secretary), Ali Blake (vice president) and Bainbridge High secretary Mary Sue Silver.

The longtime Spartan supporter was all smiles on her birthday.

“We can’t thank her enough,” Silver said.

The visitors brought the birthday girl a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and the students were struck by her enthusiasm and jubilant spirit.

But when asked for her secret to a long life, she laughed: “I don’t know!”

The Paskis were honored by the school district in 2008, when the high school’s gymnasium was named after the couple. Tom Paski coached and taught at BHS from 1947-1970, and was football and baseball coach for 14 years. He passed away in October 2005.
