After hearing the Kitsap Humane Society was struggling to maintain a stock of canned food for their 54 cats and kittens, Bainbridge Self Storage decided to put their cat-lover altruism to work.

The storage company will be holding a canned cat food drive until Sept. 18 at their facility off of Sportsman Club Road.

Their goal is to supply the Kitsap Humane Society with 3,000 cans of food, a stock that will last up to six months.

The Kitsap Humane Society, located in Silverdale, is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers and funded by community donations. It serves thousands of homeless, lost and ill companion animals throughout the county.

Donors who drop off a flat of canned food to Bainbridge Self Storage will be entered to win a sweet prize package.

The package includes, one pound of fudge from Bon Bon, a gift card for Mora Ice Cream, a twin pack of gourmet candy apples and a gift card for two 20-ounce frozen hot chocolates from Chocmo in Poulsbo.

Bainbridge Self Storage is located at 9300 Sportsman Club Road NE. For more information on the cat food drive, call 206-855-9500.
