The Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island has long been active in encouraging the community to prepare for an emergency, and the club is ramping up that effort by making a video available that illustrates how islanders can thoroughly prepare their families and households.

The video was an effort by two club members, Tom McCloskey and Adrian Sawyer, and McCloskey illustrates specific actions he has carried out to make his home safer in an emergency.

“My wife, Louise, and I are strong believers in preparing for what we feel is an almost-inevitable emergency situation, whether it be an earthquake or some other disaster,” McCloskey said. “The prospect of the bridge being out or some other similar situation  affecting everyday life in our community makes being prepared so important.”

The video is available at the club’s website at http://www.bainbridgeislandrotary.org/emergency-preparedness/.
