Two residential burglaries were reported last week on Bainbridge Island, according to a crime log of police incidents released Monday by the Bainbridge Island Police Department.

The two break-ins continue the string of weekday home burglaries that have plagued the island since late March.

According to the police department’s crime log — a spreadsheet of incidents called in to Bainbridge police for the week of April 27 to May 3 — the two burglaries were reported on Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1.

The first break-in was reported in the 9100 block of Miller Road Northeast. The second burglary was reported in the 11600 block of Just A Meer Lane Northeast.

The locations of both crimes appear to fit the pattern laid out by police in the previous break-ins; the homes were located in low-traffic areas near public parks or open spaces.

Bainbridge police have noted that the persons responsible for the burglaries may be parking in a public park or similar area and then walking to the home that has been targeted for burglarizing.

Bainbridge police reported 36 incidents in this week’s crime log, ranging from harassment calls to suicide threats, verbal domestic disputes, identity theft and counterfeiting.

Two traffic accidents were also reported.

The first was on May 1 at Northeast Hidden Cove Road and Highway 305; the second was on May 2 at the Agate Pass Bridge.
