POLICE BLOTTER

Bainbridge Police reported the following incidents. See an interactive map of incidents below.

MARCH 18

11:41 a.m. Police and medical units responded to Maple Street, where a woman had been bitten on the face by her fiancé’s Brazilian mastiff. The woman said she had been petting the dog when it bit her without warning. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

MARCH 19

4:17 a.m. An officer was called to Madison Avenue, where a pedestrian had discovered an elderly woman lying in a tipped over wheelchair. Employees of a nearby care facility arrived at the scene and said the woman was one of their residents. The woman was rolled back to the facility, having suffered several abrasions from the fall. The pedestrian told the officer that he had tipped the woman’s chair upright and asked her where she lived. The woman said she didn’t know but asked the pedestrian to help her “get out of here.” Employees at the facility said they had heard the door alarm activate earlier but had found nothing amiss. The case was recorded.

MARCH 20

9:20 p.m. Police arrested a Bainbridge man after he reportedly punched his wife in the face and tried to stop her from calling 911. He was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $5,000 bail.

1:47 p.m. A Malamute dog escaped its yard and attacked a beagle being walked on Beachcrest Drive. The Malamute inflicted scratches on the beagle and the beagle’s owner. A report was forwarded to Kitsap County Animal Control.
