Bainbridge Healthy Youth Alliance hosts summit

Parents, grandparents and community members are invited to continue the conversation inspired by Julie Lythcott-Haims' February talk on "How to Raise an Adult."

How do you help your child flourish in the complex world we live in?

Bainbridge Healthy Youth Alliance hosts a follow-up conversation for parents, grandparents and other community members inspired by the talk Julie Lythcott-Haims, Stanford University’s former Dean of Freshmen, delivered in February on “How to Raise an Adult.”

The summit, BHYA’s fifth, will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23 in the Bainbridge High School gymnasium.

High school students are invited to attend a separate session, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will work with a facilitator from the Association of Washington Student Leaders to brainstorm ways to cultivate a kinder, more supportive and inclusive peer culture.

An optional free lunch will be provided from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., available to both groups. Adults and students will also mingle briefly at the beginning of the summits, to share joint learning experiences related to youth development.
