Bainbridge council to hold special meeting on Shoreline Master Program

The Bainbridge Island City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday to get an overview of the new update to the island's Shoreline Master Program.

The Bainbridge Island City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday to get an overview of the new update to the island’s Shoreline Master Program.

The meeting is 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at city hall.

The council plans to discuss the plan with city staff and will cover the update process, the science behind some of the plan’s aspects, and a summary of the planning commission’s recommendations for the update, including high-interest topics.

The review of designations for the Point Monroe area has been singled out for Tuesday’s meeting and will also be addressed.

The meeting will conclude with an hour-long opportunity for the public to voice concerns and provide input on the shoreline program and the process.
