Bainbridge council to discuss Valley Road reconstruction

The Bainbridge Island City Council will consider the reconstruction of Valley Road at this week's meeting.

The Bainbridge Island City Council will consider the reconstruction of Valley Road at this week’s meeting.

The project will focus on resurfacing the roadway and improving storm drainage from Sunrise Drive to Falk Road. It will also include storm drainage improvements on Logg and Gertie Johnson roads.

Improving Valley Road was added to the city’s to-do list in 2012 after an area drainage study.

Browne Wheeler Engineers, Inc. was selected out of 10 consultants to design the project.

At this week’s meeting, the council will decide whether or not to forward a $41,000 professional services contract to the March 10 consent agenda.

The city council will discuss Valley Road during the “staff intensive” portion of the meeting.

This week marks the first Monday evening council session.

In February, the council approved moving its regular meeting time to 7 p.m. every Monday in city hall.
