At its Wednesday night meeting, the Bainbridge Island City Council will consider an amendment to the city’s grant from the Department of Ecology meant to support the update to the Shoreline Master Program.

Ecology has previously provided a $210,000 grant to the city to fund activities supporting the required update to its Shoreline Master Program. Now the city is considering asking for $30,000 on top of that.

The additional grant money is intended to be used to further the city’s adoption process, and the funding will go toward staff and consultants who will conduct an additional analysis on the legality and consistency of the program.

At its meeting May 1, the city council will also discuss the process of transferring city-owned park properties to the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District.

The council will also consider the work plans for the Harbor Commission and the Utility Advisory Committee.

The city council’s meeting, a study session, will begin at 7 p.m. at city hall.
