Bainbridge council to discuss concession lease for boat rentals

The Bainbridge Island City Council will discuss a new lease with Udo Wald of Back of Beyond Outfitters for renewal of his small boat rental concession contract at this week's meeting.

The Bainbridge Island City Council will discuss a new lease with Udo Wald of Back of Beyond Outfitters for renewal of his small boat rental concession contract at this week’s meeting.

Located at Waterfront Park and accessed by the city dock, the concession has been operating under a five-year lease since 2008.

At Monday’s meeting, City Manager Doug Schulze will propose renewing the lease for a one-year term to allow flexibility as the city considers upcoming renovations to the park and city dock.

The city currently receives $12,300 in rental income from the concession, which pays quarterly installments of $3,075.

The rent payment will not change under the renewed lease.

The council will discuss the concession lease during the “consent agenda” portion of the meeting.

During the “new business” portion of the session, the council will also discuss priority-based budgeting and review surplus city property.

Also on the agenda is a review of the city’s surplus property and priority-based budgeting process.

The city council meets at 7 p.m. every Monday in city hall.
