Bainbridge Councilman Joe Deets

Bainbridge Councilman Joe Deets is the new deputy mayor for Bainbridge Island.

The Bainbridge Island City Council chose its new deputy mayor at its meeting Tuesday, June 24.

Current Deputy Mayor, Councilwoman Rasham Nassar nominated Deets, a North Ward councilman, for the post, with Councilman Michael Pollock seconding the nomination.

Deets takes over the deputy mayor post from Nassar and will serve from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2020.

The vote for Deets was unanimous, on a 6-0 vote with Deets abstaining.
