The Bainbridge Island City Council will reconsider how to utilize two surplus city properties at this week’s meeting.

The discussion is a continuation of the council’s March 10 session when six surplus properties were transferred to the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District.

At the time, the council decided to take parcels of Manitou Beach and the Lovgreen Road Pit off the transfer list along with parcels of Pritchard Park due to their history of contamination and the potential restoration requirements.

The council, instead, directed city staff to provide more information on the properties before a decision is made on how to utilize the land.

Deputy City Manager Morgan Smith will offer background information during tonight’s meeting on parcels of Manitou Beach and the Lovgreen Road Pit.

Pritchard Park will be discussed at a separate briefing.

The Bainbridge Island City Council meets at 7 p.m. every Monday in city hall.
