The Bainbridge Island City Council meeting scheduled for this week has been canceled due to the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The city announced the cancellation of the Tuesday, March 17 meeting Monday morning.
City Clerk Christine Brown said in the city’s cancellation notice that the agenda items for this week’s council meeting will be taken up at a later date.
The Kitsap Public Health District announced Sunday two more cases of COVID-19 had been discovered in the county. The two new cases were among patients described as a Bremerton area resident in their 50s and a Central Kitsap area resident in their 40s.
The first two COVID-19 cases discovered in Kitsap were both on Bainbridge Island.
