Dance, auction

The evening features three hours of live Big Band and Swing Dance music performed by the award-winning BHS Jazz Collective and dance lessons with instructors Mark Cohen and Kate Titus. The dance is the largest annual fundraiser for the band and includes a silent auction, dessert bar and a raffle.

Admission is $50 for adults and $20 for students. Go to: bainbridgebands.square.site/swing-dance.

Flamenco dance

Flamenco dancer Savannah Fuentes and singer/multi-instrumentalist Diego Amador Jr. from Seville will present Volar, Flamenco en Vivo at the Island Center Hall.

The event will be March 24 at 7 p.m. at 8395 Fletcher Bay Road NE. General admission is $27.

Volar means to fly in Spanish. It represents our basic human need to feel free, to spread our wings, to make our own choices, and to reach our highest potential, not just for ourselves, but for every living being, Fuentes says in a news release.

The pair have performed all along the West Coast since 2019. Amador, from Seville, comes from a legendary family, famous for fusing Flamenco with blues, jazz and salsa music. Along with singing, he plays guitar, piano, bass and percussion.
