Saturday, May 26

6:48 p.m. A resident on Whited Place reported that her iPod was stolen from her backyard. The woman left the iPod docked in a stereo system as she was away for approximately two hours. When she returned, it was gone. Police found footprints near a fence by the home and then took a report.

6:51 p.m. A gate was damaged at a residence on Rolling Bay Walk. The owner of the property told police that the gate could not be fixed and he would have to replace it.

Sunday, May 27

3:33 p.m. A resident on Madison Avenue called police after discovering hubcaps on his car were missing. The resident had noticed “undesirable people” hanging around his home recently and wanted to make a report of the incident.

4:23 p.m. The Coast Guard asked Bainbridge Island Police to check on a boat that had run aground off the eastern shore of the island.

The 25-foot sailboat was sitting on a sandy bank in shallow water near Fay Bainbridge Park. Police found the captain of the boat in a dinghy attempting to free his boat from the sand. It appeared the man was not in distress and the Coast Guard was notified.
