Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter:
Thursday, Oct. 2
1:01 p.m. A Poulsbo wrecking yard reported that a Bainbridge resident may have fraudulently labeled two vehicles as abandoned. The company picked up a 1972 Datsun from the residence after it was certified by police and an affidavit was signed by the resident.
A week later the company was contacted for another pick-up at the same residence. A Ford Focus was handed over, signed and certified by the same officer and resident.
The same week, a Ford Ranger was towed from the same house.
Police discovered the son had photocopied his mother’s signature on the Datsun’s affidavit.
Both Fords were registered to a former nearby resident, who currently has a felony warrant out of Kitsap County for first-degree child molestation. He could not be located.
