Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 24
10:47 a.m. An 82-year-old Bremerton man was accused of harassment by a Bainbridge Island seniors-only apartment complex.
The manager told police the man was on a waiting list for housing there, and impatiently called quite often to inquire about vacancies. When a recent vacancy was filled, he became angry. When the manager made reference to supervisors who make those kinds of decisions, the man said something about “shooting those decision-makers.”
The manager said the man sometimes comes to the property and stands outside, reading signs, and often follows residents in after they use their code to open the door.
The manager said the man “appears to suffer dementia,” but could not be certain. She did, though, say his threat of shooting people was most likely not legitimate.
