Monday, Oct. 28

3:09 p.m. Management at the Kitsap Regional Library reported a man had stolen a key to the building. The man is believed to be homeless and he is usually drinking and intoxicated.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

8:58 a.m. Police received a report of a protection order violation. A woman told officers she was contacted by a friend of the man she has a protection order against. He left a voicemail message telling her the man was in the hospital and the details of his medical condition.

Officers recommended she forward the report to the prosecutor’s office.

11:12 a.m. Police were called to an island residence on a report of burglary. The woman living at the apartment told officers she noticed the burglary because her leather medicine pouch was moved and placed on top of the jewelry box, where before it had been next to it.

The woman reported that rings from her jewelry box had been taken. Her closet door was also found open, but no items were apparently taken.

She also told officers that her front door is always locked, and her back sliding door was also locked. The only people who could access her apartment from the sliding door are her neighbors who share the same deck.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

7:09 a.m. Police stopped a speeding vehicle near Lynwood Center. After making contact, it was discovered the driver had a suspended license, no insurance and no photo ID.

When asked, the driver told officers he had warrants. Police soon discovered he was a sex offender and a convicted felon.

Friday, Nov. 1

1:10 p.m. An island resident reported that his recreational float was missing from in front of his waterfront house. The float was 8-by-10-foot with a wooden deck. In checking with neighbors, the resident learned that the float had been seen drifting down Rich Passage toward Port Orchard.

The float was later found drifting against a private dock near Crystal Springs Drive.
