Bainbridge blotter | Mail mystery

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 8

10:10 a.m. A 45-year-old Bainbridge Island woman reported her mail had been stolen.

She returned from an out-of-town trip, the woman said, to find a pile of opened mail on her porch with a note saying it had been found in Hidden Cove Park. She believed the mail had been taken from her mailbox, which has no key or lock and stands alone near her home on Sunrise Drive.

The woman could not cite any specific piece of mail she’d been expecting that was now missing, however she was expecting some payments for services rendered but was not certain if they’d been taken or simply would not have arrived yet.

A report was made.
