Wednesday, June 6

7:51 p.m. A resident on Fairmont Lane reported that someone had called him at his home and claimed that his computer had a Windows-based error. The caller said they needed to walk him through some steps to repair the problem. After being guided through a series of screens the caller asked for information from the resident’s computer. The resident became suspicious of the call and asked for information on who the caller was. The caller then said he had another phone call and had to take it, and then hung up.

The resident reported the incident to police with hopes that they could track down the caller; police informed him that there was little they could do, and that in most cases like his, the call comes from another country.

11:46 p.m. Police helped a woman get into her car after she locked herself out on Madison Avenue. While they were opening her car, she left her purse and laptop on the sidewalk. She retrieved her purse but forgot her laptop. When she looked for her laptop it was missing. Police helped to search the area for it, but the computer was not found.

Thursday, June 7

12:51 a.m. Police noticed a car parked at Battle Point Park and checked on it because the park was closed. The car was empty. Police heard voices in the direction of the park, but it was dark and they could not see anyone. Police checked the surrounding area, but did not find anyone.

Friday, June 8

2:59 p.m. A man reported that his bank account was fraudulently accessed. He previously gave his checking account number to a telemarketer, but was then surprised to find charges of nearly $400 had been made. He was initially told that the telemarketing group was seeking funding to look into phone scammers, but when he got a bill for his fraudulent charges, it pertained to medication discounts. The man closed his bank account. Police told him they would try to contact the telemarketing company but suspected that they were not a legitimate company and his money would be very difficult to get back.

6:49 p.m. Police responded to an argument at Waterfront Park that escalated into an assault.

A man from Seattle was visiting his ex-boyfriend in Suquamish to get a haircut. The two then spent the day together in the area. The ex-boyfriend began to get agitated when the man had to go home. He missed his ferry, so they went to Waterfront Park to wait for the next one. The ex-boyfriend continued to get frustrated that he was leaving. It got so bad that the man called the ex-boyfriend’s mother to see if she could get him to calm down. At that point the ex-boyfriend began slapping the man.

When police ran the two men’s names they found that the ex-boyfriend had a no-contact order with the man.

Witnesses also spoke with police and verified that the ex-boyfriend had committed the assaulted.

The ex-boyfriend was arrested for assault and violating a no-contact order.

7:02 p.m. A man reported that he lost his wallet on Point White Drive. The wallet contained his driver’s license and multiple credit cards.
