10:38 a.m. The night before Halloween, a resident’s ex-wife stopped by his house to retrieve costumes for their children. After ringing the doorbell incessantly, the ex immediately began screaming at the man’s current wife when she answered the door.

The ex got so close to his wife, spit hit her in the face. There was no physical contact between the two, but the wife told police that her husband’s ex was out of control, and she wanted the woman to stop her erratic behavior.

11:57 a.m. A resident reported that his 26-year-old son had shown up at his house, was not supposed to be there and was being unruly. The resident told 911 operators that his son was possibly intoxicated or overdosing on prescription medication.

When police arrived, however, the son was driving away from the house. Officers pulled him over and he explained that he had always been welcome at the house. But this time, when he walked in with a large piece of luggage, his father immediately confronted him. He used foul language and accused the son of being on drugs.

The son told police that he is on prescription medication and smokes marijuana, but he was not under the influence of either at the time.

Officers noted that though he was a bit agitated and speaking rapidly, the son was not slurring his words, his eyes were clear and he made complete sense. The son told officers that he quit a high paying job and his father was upset about it. His father is also under a lot of stress, the son said.

4:58 p.m. For unknown reasons, a cyclist crashed in the road while riding south bound on Madison Avenue.

She was following a fellow cyclist at about 20 mph when she lost control of the bicycle and flipped over the handle bars. Her forehead struck the road. While it appeared the helmet took the majority of the impact, she sustained a substantial contusion on the right side of her forehead, broke a tooth and had injuries to her hand.

She told officers that she didn’t believe she lost consciousness.

Medics transported the cyclist to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
