Monday, Feb. 23

11:53 a.m. Police were called to the laundry on Madison Avenue after a local transient started screaming and yelling at people and accusing them of stealing his methadone.

An officer told the man not to come back to the laundry.

12:05 p.m. A 48-year-old Bainbridge woman called police after she tried to complete her federal income tax and tried to submit the return online, only to find out that someone else had filed a return using her Social Security number.

She later received a letter from the IRS that said the agency had received a fraudulent return that had used her number.

4:32 p.m. A 52-year-old Bainbridge woman reported a burglary in the 4400 block of New Sweden Avenue NE.

She said she left her home at 12:30 p.m. to work in a detached studio on her property, but when she came back an Apple laptop computer and a cell phone she had left in the kitchen were missing.

The woman told police she had seen a car enter her driveway the week before, then drive off when she came out of her studio.

Police believe the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door.
