Friday, June 5
4:03 p.m. A 16-year-old girl from Hansville was stopped for traffic on Highway 305 in the north lane near Seabold Church in a 2002 Chevy Tracker when a 70-year-old woman in a 2014 Toyota rear-ended her.
The teen had stopped because of heavy traffic when she was struck from behind. The other driver said she did not see that the driver in front of her had stopped.
No one was hurt, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
5:33 a.m. A 62-year-old Bainbridge woman was riding her bicycle west on Old Mill Road toward Blakely Avenue when she came to a construction zone and hit a 2-inch drop between the old pavement and the new pavement.
She was thrown from her bike and sustained injuries around her left eye, left knee and left shoulder.
Wednesday, June 3
12:50 a.m. A 60-year-old woman in a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350 was driving north on Highway 305 away from the ferry terminal when she was struck from behind by a 50-year-old man in a slow-moving 2006 Ford Expedition.
No one was hurt.
Tuesday, May 26
3:27 p.m. A 2007 Honda that had been parked on Bjune Drive near Winslow Way rolled down hill across the street’s two lanes before it hit a fence outside Tillicum Condominiums.
A man told police he couldn’t remember if his emergency brake was used, but police said a Rottweiler left in the car may have been a factor by fiddling with the gear shift or emergency brake handle, both of which are in the vehicle’s center console.
Monday, May 22
11:55 a.m. An 84-year-old Bainbridge woman in a 2002 Buick was driving through the parking lot at Rite Aid and hit a 47-year-old Bainbridge woman on a bike.
The woman was heading toward Safeway when the driver started to turn left; the Buick and the bicyclist collided and she went over.
The woman complained of a possible back injury and was taken to Bremerton for a medical evaluation X-rays.
The driver said she didn’t see the bicyclist.
