Bainbridge blotter | A note for ‘Killer’

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter:

Sunday, Dec. 14

1:15 p.m. A 75-year-old Bainbridge man was struck from behind when he went to turn right off Hildebrand Lane toward Highway 305 but then stopped for another driver who had the right of way. A 57-year-old woman in a 2001 Subaru drove into the man’s van when he suddenly braked for the other driver.

The Subaru hit a wheelchair lift on the back of the van, but police said the van only had minor paint damage and the lift was still operable. The Subaru had bumper, hood and other damage.

7:13 p.m. Police talked to a woman outside the police station who used the call box.

The 42-year-old Bainbridge woman said she had just returned from a Seahawks game on the ferry with her 48-year-old husband, but they began arguing when they were getting off the ferry and her husband started getting obnoxious toward others waiting to board the ferry.

She said they both had been drinking but they started arguing again about paying the babysitter when they got home and the babysitter seeing the husband in his inebriated state.

The woman said her husband punched her four times in the chest, and when she parked their car in the parking lot at the police station, he got out and walked away.

Police later learned he caught a taxi at the ferry terminal and went home. An officer went to the couple’s home and the husband was arrested for domestic violence assault. He was booked into jail on $10,000 bail.

Saturday, Dec. 13

5:40 p.m. A 62-year-old man on Ward Avenue reported a “bizarre” incident. He said he found his GPS device under his driver’s side rear tire with a mysterious note.

The man said the device probably fell out when he was getting out of his vehicle.

The typewritten note said “Killer, don’t buy things that you don’t need. Use more than once. Proof.”
