Astronaut speaks at Bainbridge schools fundraiser

Astronaut Bonnie Dunbar will be the guest speaker at the Bainbridge Schools Foundation Spring Breakfast on Friday, May 10.

Astronaut Bonnie Dunbar will be the guest speaker at the Bainbridge Schools Foundation Spring Breakfast on Friday, May 10.

Dunbar, a Washington State native, made five space shuttle missions from 1985-1998. She is currently leading a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Center at the University of Houston and is a 2013 inductee into the Kennedy Space Center Hall of Fame.

Tickets are now on sale for the breakfast benefit, which will be held at Bainbridge Performing Arts. The fundraiser will start with a continental breakfast at 8, followed by the speaker and a question-and-answer session from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A raffle drawing for an iPad Mini will follow.

Tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for students. Raffle tickets are one for $10, three for $25, and 10 for $75.
