A new application has been submitted to the Washington State Liquor Control Board for a retail marijuana shop on Day Road.

Evergreen, a Seattle-based company that previously tried to get a license for a marijuana shop on NE Valley Road in Rolling Bay, is seeking permission for a similar store at 7880 NE Day Road.

The state is already reviewing applications for a growing and processing marijuana business in the industrial park at 8040 NE Day Road. That project is being pursued by Way Kool, Inc. The company filed for an application for the operation on Dec. 1.

Bainbridge City Manager Doug Schulze told the city council at its meeting Monday that the city had been notified about the pending retail application by the Liquor Control Board and may offer comments on the application.

“We are reviewing that at this time and determining how that fits with the zoning code,” Schulze said.

The application for a retail license was filed by Alex Snyder.

In an email to the Review, he said it was premature to talk about the application.
