Album release: Island group’s new album due out today

Perennially popular island performers Ethan J. Perry & the Remedy Jam Band will release their long-awaited album “Sundial” Thursday, March 3.

Perennially popular island performers Ethan J. Perry & the Remedy Jam Band will release their long-awaited album “Sundial” Thursday, March 3.

The group is comprised of Sam Kuniholm on drums, Steve Schwarz on bass and Perry heading the band on guitar and vocals. Phillip Earle joins in on mandolin and Alex Fermanis on pedal steel.

The album release will be celebrated with a special concert event at the Royal Room in Seattle, a performance which kicks off a series of tour dates culminating with a final show back on Bainbridge Saturday, March 26 at Bainbridge Island Brewing Company.

Perry has released two previous albums under his name entitled, “The Bohemian Bitch & Other Songs From Poets Row” (2009) and “Night Lights” (2010). He describes the musical stylings on the new album as “Americana Indie Technicolor Jazz.”

Jaimie Hawkins, an independent music reviewer, has said of the sound, “[it’s like] riding a horse through a desert in space.”
