A Journey of Connection: Discover Ireland through local eyes

Meet the makers, share stories and experience authentic Irish hospitality on a one-of-a-kind group tour

For travelers looking to experience Ireland in a way that goes far beyond sightseeing, a new group tour launching next year offers something truly special – an opportunity to connect with people, culture and community at every stop.

Unlike traditional tours, this experience focuses on genuine interaction and relationship-building. Guests will visit Irish vendors and artisans, meeting the people who craft the products often found in their favorite stores.

“That’s one of the things that sets this trip apart,” says Debbie Sonandre, Owner of Celtic Crossroads NW. “You’re not just shopping – you’re hearing their stories and seeing the passion that goes into what they do.”

Adding an unforgettable touch, the group will also be hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, Edward Walsh at his residence in Dublin. “We’re incredibly fortunate that the Ambassador has agreed to welcome us,” Sonandre shares. “It’s an honor and something few visitors ever get to experience.”

But at the heart of this journey is a deeper sense of connection – both among travelers and with the people of Ireland.

“Irish people are all about conversation,” Sonandre says. “When you meet them, it’s not just a transaction. They want to know where you’re from, what brought you there and how your year has been. It’s about community, not commerce.”

The tour strikes a thoughtful balance between relaxation and exploration. Guests can take part in local adventures, visit traditional pubs or simply enjoy a quiet morning at the hotel.

“We want people to know it will be relaxing,” Sonandre says. “You can do as much or as little as you like – it’s your trip.”

For many participants, the journey’s value extends beyond the time spent abroad.

“We’re bringing together people from our own island to create community,” Sonandre says. “When we return home, that connection continues.”

To join the tour, travelers must contact Sonandre at the shop or email info@celticcrossroadsnw.com for dates on the travel planning. Trip deposits must be made by the end of December, with local information sessions planned for February and March to help prepare – from securing passports to packing tips.

With rich culture, warm hospitality and once-in-a-lifetime experiences waiting, this Irish adventure promises not just a trip, but a journey filled with conversation, connection and lasting memories.
