With Father’s Day upon us, I find myself once again thinking about the parallels between parenting wild animal babies and human babies.

Bainbridge Island Summer Studio Tour
An eclectic mix of artist’s studios will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 13-15 for the 10th annual three-day Bainbridge Island Summer Studio Tour. The seven studios, many with artistic gardens, will showcase the work of 55 artists who will be on hand to talk about their work, and in some cases, offer demonstrations.

Cancer research fund raiser
Hannah’s Hopeful Hearts fund raiser is at 7 p.m. March 19 at Grace Church, 8595 E. Day Rd., and will include a buffet supper.
Admission to the event is free, but capacity is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged.
All proceeds from the fund-raising event will go to support Dr. Olson’s research, not for the family’s medical expenses.
Expenses to put on the event have been donated by the community and Grace Church.
