Timeless tunes shine at latest Space Craft show

Two vintage-inspired acts will share the stage at a Space Craft doubleheader concert on Saturday, April 15: Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints, and Sundae + Mr. Goessl.

Born out of a love of the early years of swing, country and rock ‘n’ roll, Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints is a band whose sound transports you to speakeasies, honky-tonks and roadhouses. With upright bassist and vocalist Pereira at its center, the band features many of Seattle’s most skilled and versatile musicians, who share the love of the American song traditions and a desire to offer a fresh angle on them.

Sundae + Mr. Goessl is the creation of the strongest type of bond. Comprised of a husband and wife duo, the connection in their music is almost immediate.

They specialize a mix of genres, with offerings predominately from the 1930s. Some have likened their style to vintage pop and others have called it Cowboy Jazz. With three albums under their belts and four national tours, the duo is quickly spreading joy across the land.

Tickets, $12 in advance ($15 at the door) can be purchased at www.spacecraftpresents.org, via Brown Paper Tickets. The venue, Rolling Bay Hall, is located at 10598 Northeast Valley Road.

Doors open at 7:30, the show starts at 8 p.m.
