Seattle7Writers announced its “Fill Your Summer Bookbag Bookfest” celebration — with 16 Northwest authors in attendance — will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at Eagle Harbor Book Company.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Kitsap Regional Libraries.

The literature-centric summer shindig features book signing, author-baked sweets and even drawings for free books and literary items.

Featured writers will include Elizabeth George (international bestselling mystery author), William Dietrich (New York Times bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize winner), Susan Wiggs (New York Times bestselling author), Suzanne Selfors (Washington State Book Award winning author of children’s books), Carol Cassella (national bestselling author of “Gemini”), Jennifer Louden (personal-growth pioneer and author of “The Life Organizer”), Thor Hanson (conservation biologist and author of “The Triumph of Seeds”), poet Kelli Russell Agodon as well as Adrianne Harun and Bridget Foley (both critically acclaimed debut novelists).

Also in attendance will be fiction writers Erica Bauermeister, Rebecca Wells, Kathleen Alcala, Megan Chance, Laurie Frankel and thriller writer Kevin O’Brien.

Books will be available for purchase from Eagle Harbor Books and all authors will be on hand to sign and inscribe them.

It is an ideal opportunity for readers to connect with their favorite authors as well as meet new ones.

Seattle7Writers encourages and promotes Northwest literature with the rallying cry of “Read Local.” As part of their outreach, the nonprofit organization helps stock “pocket libraries” throughout the city in homeless shelters and food banks.
