Bainbridge Performing Arts is now registering for the Winter Session (mid-January through late March), Mid-Winter (Feb. 16–20) and Spring Break (March 30-April 3) theatre school camps.

Led by experienced teaching artists, BPA Theatre School provides year-round classes and camps for all ages and experience levels.

The Winter Session includes offerings in four primary programs: “Developing Actors,” “Building Character,” “Teen Intensive” and “Performance Series.”

The overriding goal of the “Developing Actors” program is to create a rich, positive learning environment that focuses on developing capable people as well as future performers.

In “Building Character” students focus on ensemble building, pursuing objectives, overcoming obstacles, and using their voice and body to create captivating characters.

As part of a year-long program, Zandi Carlson teaches the “Teen Intensive” program along with guest artists who are also working theatre professionals.

This quarter, The BPA Shakespeare Society’s Director Tom Challinor joins Carlson to lead classes and rehearsals for students in grades 8 through 12. Students will explore Shakespeare through rehearsal and performance of the hilarious “Comedy of Errors.”

“Performance Series” is about more than just getting on stage. When it comes to performing, BPA’s educational program inspires confidence building, character building, community building and celebrating the joy of artistic expression.

This winter, Carlson and Michelle Abad head up “Broadway Basics” for students in grades 1 and 2.

“Broadway Dreams” is also led by Abad for students in grades 3 though 5 and “Characters of Broadway” for grades 6 through 8 is taught by Julia Beers.
