Out(side)rageous Family Day — where nature, education, music and fun are all wrapped into one unforgettable day — will return to Bloedel Reserve from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.
Activities will be spread across the grounds and led by local friends from IslandWood, Kids Discovery Museum, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, the Boys & Girls Club of Bainbridge Island and West Sound Wildlife Shelter, who will bring a special ambassador animal.
At 11 a.m., Casper Babypants will get the crowd jamming in their strollers and twirling on the lawn, and then at noon Recess Monkey will continue the party with their rocking tunes.
To see that everyone gets the most out of the day, Bloedel is loosening its “no picnicking” restrictions, and food will be allowed in designated areas.
“It was great at last year’s event to see families enjoying the Reserve and to hear children’s laughter across the grounds,” said executive director Ed Moydell. “This year should be just as great. Live music, hands-on activities and the natural beauty of the reserve, what’s not to enjoy?”
Out(side)rageous Family Day is free for all children, and adult admission for the event is reduced to $10. Reserve members get in for free.
