It’s no “Night Before Christmas,” – not yet anyway – but Alice Mooney of Bainbridge Island has written a children’s book called, “The Christmas Eve Mouse.”

Mooney, who has lived on the island since 1996, says it’s her first children’s book and is a true story. She is an illustrator whose works have been published in magazines and newspapers since 1991.

Mooney’s magical Christmas Eve story and unique whimsical illustrations will delight kids ages 1 to 92, the publisher’s note says. This sweet holiday picture book, which will become a Christmas tradition, is about a little mouse visiting Bainbridge Island on Christmas Eve. The book features a number of BI locations etc.

The book, published last month, has already received a 5-star review on Amazon. The book is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon and even Walmart. It comes in hardcover and softcover in three different sizes. Prices vary per bookstore. Signed books are only available at her website AliceMooney.com
