Gypsy jazz concert is Saturday at BIMA

Perennial Bainbridge music favorite, gypsy jazz tunesmiths Ranger and the Re-Arrangers, along with Ryan Hoffman of Pearl Django will rock the auditorium at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 16.

Hoffman has studied rock-and-roll in Kansas City, swing in New Orleans and Gypsy jazz in France, where he learned from Fapy Lafertin, one of the world’s top Gypsy jazz guitarists.

He has shared the stage with luminaries including Martin Taylor, Bucky Pizzarelli, Larry Coryell and Howard Alden.

The concert will feature music from Ranger and the Re-Arrangers repertoire of American swing standards and traditional gypsy melodies.

There is no charge for admission, though seating is limited and reservations are encouraged.
