Gospel greats to sing on Bainbridge

Saint Cecilia Parish welcomes internationally known recording artists ValLimar and Frank Jansen for a gospel music concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the church.

ValLimar Jansen is a highly regarded singer, cantor, and recording artist, and toured with the musical, “Raisin.” She is also a college professor, a leader of worship and prayer, and a workshop presenter at conferences internationally, across the U.S. and the Archdiocese of Seattle.

She will be accompanied by her husband, Frank Jansen, who performed with The Coasters, The Platters and The Drifters. He has a master’s degree in liturgical music from Santa Clara University, and is an internationally known composer of liturgical music.

The pair performed at The Loreto/Angora International Papal Event (Italy), and won the 2008 Unity Awards for “Best Gospel Album” and “Best Gospel Song” for their album “Anointing.”

The visit is hosted by the Spiritual Enrichment Events Committee of St. Cecilia Parish.

Mass at 5 p.m. will be cantored by ValLimar and accompanied by Frank Jansen.

Light refreshments will be offered from 6 to 7, and the Concert will begin at 7 p.m.

Suggested donation is $10 for adults, $30 for family admission and $5 for students.
