Taste a single malt, save a seal.

The fourth annual Whiskies for Wildlife tasting will be held at the Manor House (4461 Woodson Lane NE) from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.

The event is presented by Bainbridge Organic Distillers and proceeds will benefit the Puget Sound Restoration Fund.

The special tasting event features a label list that boats more than 200 superlative single malt and other whiskies from some of the greatest distilleries in the world including Ireland, Japan, Scotland and North America.

“A lot of them are older expressions,” explained Keith Barnes, owner of Bainbridge Organic Distillers. “And also some whiskeys that would be considered antiques from the ’30s and ’40s.”

Tastings will be paired with small plates created by the Manor House’s chef. The event also features an oyster bar.

Puget Sound Restoration Fund is a nonprofit organization founded in 1997 which is dedicated exclusively to restoring marine habitat, water quality and native species in Puget Sound.

Tickets are on sale now and, according to Barnes, going quick. He estimated that as of earlier this week there were already only 40 or 50 tickets left.

The coast is $125 per person.
