Couple announce wedding plans

Shelby Smyly and Michael Heald will be married in October.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate the couple’s engagement on a beautiful day at the groom-to-be’s family home on Bainbridge Island on Saturday, June 15.

Michael is the son of Candee and Rich Heald of Bainbridge. An account executive for Nike, he is a graduate of Washington State University.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lorrie and Mike Smyly of Spokane.

Shelby is a veterinarian and a graduate of CalPoly and the University of Pennsylvania Veterinarian School.

The couple will become husband and wife on Oct. 12, 2019 at Shelby’s family lake home on Spirit Lake in Idaho. They will begin their new life together in Portland, Oregon.
