BPAA looks up for ‘Jupiter and the Asteroids’

Jupiter is center stage in the sky. Join astronomer Steve Ruhl for a look at the latest images from the Juno probe and the largest planet’s gravitational dominance over the solar system at the planetarium show “Jupiter and the Asteroids” at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory at Battle Point Park.

The show is free to members of the Battle Point Astronomical Association; $2 donation suggested for nonmembers, $5 for families.

BPAstro Kids will be discovering all about flight with “3-2-1 Blast Off!” with Dr. Erica Saint Clair at 4 and 5 p.m.

If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes for public star gazing afterward.

The Battle Point Astronomical Association is a nonprofit amateur astronomy organization that operates the Ritchie Observatory and John H. Rudolph Planetarium in the Helix House at Battle Point Park.
