Eagle Harbor Books is celebrating authors from Bainbridge Island and the region this month at the Winslow book store.

All events are free and open to the public.

Bainbridge Island author Barbara Winther will talk about her third international thriller, “The Tiger Drums,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.

Set in Japan, the book involves a woman associated with the fictional San Francisco law firm of McCloskey, Warner, & Jarvis; and a cat takes on many guises while it pads silently beneath the people who move across the pages. The visual component of Winther’s show will focus on places in Japan featured in “The Tiger Drums.”

Eagle Harbor favorite and Port Townsend resident Erica Bauermeister returns to talk about her latest novel, “The Lost Art of Mixing,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.

A sequel or sorts to her previous book, “The School of Essential Ingredients,” the characters gather around Lillian and her restaurant where their lives collide and mix with those around them, sometimes joining in effortless connections, at other times sifting together and separating again, creating a family that is chosen, not given.

Bainbridge author Tom Kelly brings his first work of fiction, “Cold Crossover,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.

The taut mystery involves the disappearance of a basketball hero on a late-night ferry, and the efforts of his former coach to find out what happened.
