The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art will host a special screening event of the film “A Thirsty World,” by acclaimed French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, in cooperation with Saha Global at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

The event is orchestrated by Bainbridge High School graduate Signe Lindquist, now a sophomore at Whitman College and a field representative with Saha Global, a nonprofit organization focused on providing access to clean water and electricity to rural communities, including creating sustainable social businesses to provide clean water and electricity for over 39,000 people in Northern Ghana.

“I am putting on a screening of the film ‘A Thirsty World’ to raise awareness of the global water crisis and fundraise for one of Saha’s water projects [which] I will be a part of this winter,” she said.

“I am so excited for both this event and to be working on a clean water project under Saha Global,” Lindquist added. “They are an organization tackling global development issues with a strong passion for social justice, human health and the health of the planet.”

The screening is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Visit www.facebook.com/events/1190771484269517 for more information about the event.
