Bainbridge student picked for Torero Trek program

Elizabeth Von Ruden of Bainbridge Island recently networked with University of San Diego alumni and employers in San Diego through the university’s Career Development Center.

Von Ruden, a student in the USD Class of 2018 and a biology major, interacted with alumni and employers currently with top San Diego biotech companies such as Hologic, La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology, and Illumina.

“Torero Treks embody the ideal of ‘Toreros for Life,’” said Charles Bass, senior director of alumni relations at the college. “This program helps our current students realize that their relationship with USD will last well beyond graduation and is an excellent opportunity for alumni engagement. Our alumni enjoyed sharing about their USD experiences while serving as valuable resources for current students looking to start their careers.”

The University of San Diego is a Catholic institution of higher learning committed to teaching, the liberal arts, the formation of values and the creation of ethical leaders. Chartered in 1949, the school enrolls approximately 8,300 undergraduate and graduate full-time equivalent students.
