Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School presents annual Winter Showcase

Get one hot ticket for two great shows next month as the Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School’s annual Winter Showcase, a family-friendly event showcasing talented students in the second through 12th grades, takes the stage for two performances: “Bainbridge to Broadway ‘16,” by Liz Ellis and Zandi Carlson, at 7 p.m. and Shakespeare’s classic comedy “Twelfth Night” at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 and Thursday, March 24.

“Bainbridge to Broadway ‘16” includes music direction by Michelle Abad and choreography by Helen Heaslip. As part of the BPA Theatre School’s “Performance Series,” students will

present a musical revue featuring popular and classic Broadway hits strung together with charming scenes. This never-been-seen-before show is sure to delight and thrill audience members.

“Twelfth Night” is presented by the school’s “Teen Intensive” students. William Shakespeare’s classic comedy features mistaken identities, sword fighting and true love.

When Viola is washed ashore in Illyria, she must disguise herself as a man, only to fall for Duke Orsino, who is in love with the Countess Olivia, who falls in love with Viola, disguised as Cesario.

Tickets (which secure admission for both shows) are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, youth, students, military and teachers. BPA box office hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and one hour prior to each performance.
