Second- and fifth-graders from The Island School raised $10,182 from their Kids Can Make a Difference calendar sales and donations for the Bainbridge Ometepe Sister Islands Association.
The students elected to fund nine programs organized by BOSIA, including university scholarships for two students, library books for eight schools, a weekend ambulance driver’s salary, tech readers and mobility workshops for the blind, and sign language workshops for deaf students and their parents.
The calendar project is an island tradition, now in it’s 23rd year.
The Island School is an independent school that educates students in kindergarten through the fifth grade.
